National Park Ginseng Poachers Given Jail Time
By Rocky Thompson on November 9th, 2011Four men were handed jail terms ranging from 15 to 120 days for digging up ginseng in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. They were each caught with about 150 plants each, and one of them also had a map detailing where to go and dig up ginseng. That was helpful to the park rangers when they went back in to replant all that ginseng. Can’t these guys get their fix from goat-urine/corn-syrup/ginseng-laced Monster energy drinks like the rest of us?
