Hundreds of Tourists Rescued Near Everest
By Rocky Thompson on November 8th, 2011I hope they flew really luxurious helicopters to rescue all the people who paid outrageous amounts of money to hike to the base camp at Everest. After six days of bad weather Nepal’s Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation moved about 1,500 tourists to Katmandu from the village of Lukla where they’ve been stuck since last week. There were 48 flights and helicopter rides out of the village yesterday, though last week, a handful of adventurous tourists hiked four days to the town of Jiri and took buses to Kathmandu.
Thanks Austin
