Be One With the Wild

The Boy Scouts of America are trying to put the whole we-don’t-allow-gays thing behind them by throwing their doors wide open to kids who grow beards at freakishly young ages. At least the Boy Scouts’ ad firm chose to represent being “one with the wild” thought a John-Muir-style beard. If they’d created an ad campaign around being one with the wild through drum circles and jam bands we’d have a real problem.

Why is it that anything the Boy Scouts do is immediately them trying to get past the \”whole we-don\’t allow-gays thing\”? Headline - Boy Scouts attempt to go on camping trip in order to get past the \”whole we-don\’t-allow-gays-thing\”. Great hard hitting journalism here. While I may not agree with National BSA policies I don\’t see how this does anything but promote an \”us\” vs. \”them\” mentality. This is one Eagle Scout who won\’t be buying anything from backcountry.com anymore.
