Study Finds Outdoor Recreation Good for Arizona
By Rocky Thompson on June 3rd, 2011Surprise, an Access Fund study found that outdoor recreation is good for Arizona. It creates about 87,000 jobs and gives the state $371 million in tax revenue. And that’s just Arizona, imagine what it does for a state that’s not the temperature of the Sun for half the year. The report was completed by an Access Fun grant and conducted by two alums from legendary party school Arizona State. They found that 38% of outdoor recreation in the state required an overnight stay by visitors, and that people pump $5.3 billion in their economy, representing 12% of AZ’s total economy.

You are really missing the boat, if you think Arizona is only about heat in the summer time. Yes, it will be almost 100 in Phoenix today. But, in Prescott and many points north, it will be in the low 80′s with blue skies and some of the best outdoor adventure anywhere.
Outdoor recreation is a big reason that most of us live in Arizona.
