Survivor of ’96 Everest Disaster Returns to Summit

Climbing guide Neal Beidleman who survived the 1996 disaster on Everest though he lost his climbing partner and several friends returned to the mountain this year. Palm Springs ‘Rescue Box’ for Lost Hikers

A 63-year-old hiker set out on a Palm Springs trail with two liters of water early in the morning. By afternoon he made it up to about 6,000ft before feeling too fatigued to continue, and then he ran out of water when he was back down around $2,500ft. Cubed Super Pipe at Squaw with Simon Dumont

Park Service to River Runners: “Good Luck”
