N/A Beer Sports Drinks

A non-alcoholic beer sports drink? I thought that’s pretty much what Michelob Ultra was. Turns out that stuff has a bit of alcohol. The German brewer Erdinger is now offering something called “Alkoholfrei” and marketing it to the sports crowd. I don’t speak German, but I’m pretty sure Alkoholfrei means ‘unleaded’ in English.

I love beer, but there isn’t a chance I would fill a CamelBak with it for a bike ride. Well, at least I wouldn’t fill it with N/A beer.

    Erdinger has had an alcohol free wheat beer for years…the marketing to the sports crowd is at least 10 years old too…they sponsored a German Luge champ….beer was famously part of of his training diet….

    It’s pretty good too….
