Edward Abbey’s Car For Sale on eBay

Edward Abbey’s 1975 Cadillac Eldorado is for sale on eBay. The old guy stuck with the classics, none of that SUV garbage for him. The car’s changed hands a few times, and it comes with the original title signed by Abbey and some old plates that say “Hayduke.” As bizarre a piece of literary history as this car is, at least the proceeds from the sale are going to Confluence: A Celebration of Reading and Writing in Moab.

    Abbey was the man, Monkey Wrench gang should be a book mandated for all high schoolers to read.

    My sis bought me “A Fool’s Progress” and I was blown away by the descriptions of the scenery. Abbey’s books are some of my favorites. I agree that high-schoolers should have to read him.
