Gert Boyle, the chairwoman of Columbia made famous in the company’s ‘One Tough Mother’ ad campaign thwarted a robbery at her home yesterday. She was roughed up by a robber who held her at gunpoint outside her home, and when she led them inside, she said she had to turn off her alarm. Instead she triggered the silent alarm, which called the police. When interviewed about the break in, the local police said this:

“He mistakenly wore a North Face jacket, and he asked her how she was doing,” Hennelly said. “She said she was doing fine until that jacket walked through the door.”
