Equipment failures have plagued adventurer Todd Carmichael yet again on his second attempt at an unassisted transit of Death Valley. He’s using a 500lb cart to transports his gear and water, and this ‘Pig’ has been his weak link with each crossing. This year he needed to use the spare tires on his cart too early, then got one more blowout. With the all the tires beyond repair, the Pig is stuck in the sand. Sorry Todd. At least the 110F heat will still be there next year. Better luck.
