No wonder Floyd Landis went broke. It wasn’t the Floyd Defense Fund or the divorce proceedings - it was leaving his $8k bikes in the ditch. A mountain bike with two flats and what appeared to be a couple broken pedals was pulled out of a rummage sale for $5. Turns out the bike was custom-made for Floyd Landis and retailed for $8,000 a few years ago. In bike-land it’s worth maybe $2k now if you’re lucky, but it’s at least a good for an interesting story when you’re standing over it at the trailhead. Maybe the buyer can sell it and use the cash he raised to get that awful tattoo removed.
