Man Nearly Done Walking Entire Length of the Amazon River

By Rocky Thompson on August 5th, 2010

There’s some dispute about which river is the world’s longest (depending on where you place its source, it’s either the Amazon or the Nile), but there’s no question over who’s the world’s craziest person. His name is Ed Stafford, and he’s nearly finished with his 4,000 mile walk along the length of the Amazon. He kicked it off in April 2008, and 855 days later, he’s within 4 days of the Atlantic.  Once finished, he’ll be the first person to complete the hike. You can read about his daily grind on this website, Waking the Amazon.
