Coal Strip Mine near Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah Approved
By Rocky Thompson on August 5th, 2010
A soulless coal company won a victory over humanity on Tuesday when a Utah state board approved them to strip mine 440 acres of private land near Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. The company of small-minded people with only short-term profits where their hearts should be, Alton Coal Development LLC, said that the board’s approval of the mine validates all their scientific research.
Alton appeared to get fast-track approval after complaining in a meeting with Herbert that regulators were taking too long to make their decision. The company opened its application for a permit in 2005.
A company representative sat down with Herbert Sept. 17, 2009, the same day the governor’s campaign was depositing a $10,000 contribution from the coal company.
Well – I’m sure that’s a coincidence and had nothing to do with the approval.
