A Photographer Trying to Get Paid by Grenade

By Rocky Thompson on July 26th, 2010

Photographer Chris Messervey filed a blog post last week in which he details his awful experience working with Grenade Gloves. Basically, Chris says that Grenade never paid him for using his work on their website, and after loads of e-mails trying to collect the bill, Chris threw in the towel and put all the e-mails between him and the people from Grenade online. I make no claims as to the veracity of these e-mails, but you’d have to be a special breed of insane to put all this stuff online if you were making it up.

Reading the e-mails is brutal. I felt like I had just finished arguing with someone at a bank after going through them.

The wronged photog should have engaged his lawyer much sooner in that process. Of course, it probably would have cost more than the licensing fee. Still, if you’re going to argue on principle, you might as well do it right. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Its called a contract, you get it in writing before you hand out your photos.

  3. C cup

C cup is always better than A cup. Grenade is a bunch of D-bags. They have a long trail of leaving a bad impression and their gear is junk. Just reading the email (non-punctuated nonsense) from their CEO should tell you something about the goonery running that operation. I hope that all snowboarders read this and agree to bag the Grenade and support the picture taker and fellow boarder who obviously has a love for the sport. Grenade only shows a love for Danny Kass. Boycott them.

    I agree with C cup
