Federal Judge Bans Personal Watercraft at Gulf Islands National Seashore and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

By Rocky Thompson on July 13th, 2010

A federal judge tossed out rules that had been enacted during the Bush administration allowing people to use jet skis in a couple national parks. This is similar to the whole snowmobiles-in-Yellowstone thing except, well, no one really gets too upset about losing their rights to jet ski in a national park. In her 88-page ruling, the judge blasts the decision to allow personal watercraft in the parks in spite of the noise would impact wildlife and the pollution levels were unacceptable. It was a puzzling decision. I suppose it was one of those situations where you do everything you can since you’re in power, knowing full well most of the decisions will get overturned when the POTUS office changes over.

Does the rule apply to all people and jet skis or just mulleteers on purple and leopard?

Dont talk shit about Kenny Powers, who we all know that no rules apply to. Besides, hes really good at hiding his jet ski.
