RVing Mishap in Minnesota
By Rocky Thompson on June 11th, 2010
A man driving his truck and towing a large camper on his way west became confused by the cones in the road construction and ended up driving through freshly poured highway concrete for several hundred yards. Authorities estimate that he caused $100k in damages to the worksite.
“He felt really bad,” Mehrer said. “He didn’t realize he caused that kind of damage.”
Reached on the road, Jadick countered that the patrol has it wrong. “I didn’t go through all this,” he said from his cell phone, before hanging up.
The patrol captain said that Jadick, heading west by himself on vacation, reported that the driver became confused “with all the coning” while changing lanes to exit at 45th Street.
When they finally tracked him down, they gave him a $20 ticket and sent him on his way. The construction company’s insurance company is responsible for the cost of damages. Man, $100k would have paid for more than a couple hundred yards of bike lane.

Nice photo of the EM-50 Urban Assault Vehicle!
When in doubt, just keep driving.
In the story it made it sound like old man idiot’s insurance was going to be paying the damages, not the construction company’s insurance.
