Have You Seen This Crazy Man? Hiker Attacked by Man with Taser

By Rocky Thompson on May 5th, 2010

A 24-year-old Seattle woman was accosted about 100 yards up Tiger Mountain Trail near Issaquah, Washington. He ‘engaged in small talk’ but it must not have gone well, because when she turned around he grabbed her, tased her, and pushed her to the ground. The woman was able to fight him off and escape, and she helped police sketch out this guy that looks like half the copywriters working at Backcountry. With a bit of luck, they’ll catch him and everyone can go back to feeling relatively safe on the trail. If you see anyone who looks like a creep carrying a taser around, throw rocks at them until police arrive.

Not as bad as the sword-wielding psychos on the trails near Los Angeles a couple years ago, but still disconcerting. Why do crazy people have to go near nice places?

How about small copper-jacketed rocks? ‘Cause I know a couple women hikers that know how to throw those at a thousand miles an hour. :)

I’ll also take this opportunity to insert my obligatory mention of support for for the second amendment.

Lesson learned : Do not get engaged in small talk on hiking trails. For that matter, don’t get enagaged in small talk anywhere….

what a tweaker. yes bean that sumbitch in the head with a rock, and give him a scar that is a bit more recognizable. this sketch looks like something done by a second grader.
