Celebrity Sightings on the Trail

By Rocky Thompson on April 29th, 2010

My friends saw a group of Mormon Fundamentalists on the trail once, and I’ve told that story about a dozen times. I’d wear myself out trying to tell this one: Two hikers in Virginia came around a switchback and ran into the President and First Lady on a hike. Glad to see the Washington crew got into National Park Week, though I imagine the President always gets access to National Parks and museums for free. Another nice job perk.

Actually, this was Asheville, NC not VA. I do a bunch of before work hikes right around there. Sadly, was out of town last weekend and missed them.

Been enjoying the no-BS tone of your blog. ;^)

I was hiking in a Ghanaian national park last week and ran into a group of Mormon Fundamentalists.

I saw Lou Ferrigno on a beach one time. He could probably beat up me and Barak at the same time. Not if all those secret service people jumped in though. That guy is ripped.
“Mormon” Fundamentalists? You might be mixing up your churches a little.
