Broke Government Selling New Coins

By Rocky Thompson on April 26th, 2010

I’ve read about these America the Beautiful coins on every single outdoor blog, but avoided writing about it since it seemed so well covered and not all that interesting. I’m not much of a fan of coin collecting, but I thought I should do my part and let people know about them just in case The Goat is the only place you get your news and you’ve been refusing Hot Springs National Park coins since you didn’t know they were legal tender. The choice of which park to use was easy for Arkansas since they only have one; probably why they got to be the first one honored. Poor New Jersey will just have to keep using their old quarters.

I love Mt. Hood and it’s near and dear to my heart, but should it really get a quarter if it’s not a national park and just a NF? Of course, the simple answer is to just make it a national park, but then I supposed you couldn’t have the ski areas operating there and it would become BC-only like Rainier. But really?

I collected all the state quarters one at a time as they were issued over several years.
    I’m done.
