10-Year-Old Sends V10
By Rocky Thompson on April 1st, 2010
A 10-year-old girl named Ashima sent a V10 called Power of Silence in Hueco Tanks, Texas. The online community has becoming incredibly concerned about the biological affects that climbing could have on her development, and it almost certainly has nothing to do with them projecting their own shortcomings. Also, it seems that there’s some talk among them about discrediting early childhood ascents of these boulders. I’m not sure how they’d do that - maybe blow up the boulder?

“Biological effects that climbing could have on her development”
Were none of these people ever children? Do they not know that kids spend their time climbing things regardless of whether it’s sanctioned or not? Would they prefer she play video games and become another fat kid?
Scott, It’s April Fools day.
The article actually says she’s only 8 years old.
I agree /w Scott. I was walking though the park the other day and over heard a two people talking about their kids. They were afraid that if the kids played to much their mussels would get over developed and this would be bad. I laughed my ass off. Of course both of the people were definitely over weight.
What I didn’t get was why they would want their kids to end up like them.
Get out there and do something with your self!!!
8 year olds dude.
I don’t see what April Fool’s day has to do with the linked article, which was written a few days ago, or with the comments for said article questioning the effects of climbing on her development, which were posted three days ago. Or with the linked New York Post article, which crappy as the Post is, was written in November.
Article’s legit. I’ve seen this girl climb in two gyms. She’s insane. At her height, when she’s on an 18-foot highball, it’s like me being up 30 feet without a rope.
that looks so kewl only if i was that amazing to do something like that i bet it was off da hook lol
