Olympic Denim

If you can pull yourself away from worrying about Lindsey Vonn’s bruised shin for a few moments, you’ll find out about the latest storyline to hit the Olympics. Are the Canadian snowboard cross team’s pants too tight?
After paying an unsolicited compliment to the outfits of the surprisingly strong contingent of French riders — “I like their style: the jockey tops, the baggier pants” - (U.S. rider Nate) Holland headed for the chairlift, yelling over his shoulder, “You guys should ask the Canadians why they’re wearing such tight pants.”
Snowboarders are more worried about their outfits than the figure skaters. Speaking of figure skaters, was I the only one who noticed that the announcers said the 25-year-old and 16-year-old American team was dating? They at least said the duo had postponed their Valentine’s Day dinner until after last night’s competition. I’m not one of those guys who knows age-of-consent laws in every country around the globe, but that 25-year-old might find out what Canadian prison looks like if he gets on the wrong side of the law by winning too many medals.
The 25 year old is not dating his skating partner. He is dating the woman from the other pairs skating team from the US, and she is 21.

Jeremy Barrett is married to Amanda Evora. Barrett has been skating pairs with 16yo Caydee Denney for just 18 mos. Evora is paired with Mark Ladwig, who is himself married and father (baby is less than a year old).
Barrett and Evora postponed their Valentines Day plans until after pairs skating was complete (which was last night).
In case you’re wondering why I know this, it’s because Ladwig is the younger brother of one of my HS classmates. We all grew up in NW MN (Moorhead) - not Fargo as the clueless announcers stated during the program.
All 4 of the skaters train (together) out of the same center in/near Bradenton, FL.
not bc.com worthy discussion. i am less of a person for having read these comments and totally subhuman for responding to this mindless drivel.
I simply feel let down that the entry wasn’t actually about those ridiculous denim-looking pants. If they were going to wear something like that, they might as well complete they outfit with a Starter jacket and one-buckle rental boots.
Oh and svlocal, I’m not sure where you’ve been looking, but The Goat lives on a steady diet of drivel with product info added here and there for flavoring.
