Teen with Ninja Sword Fends off Mountain Lion

By Rocky Thompson on February 11th, 2010

A California teen with an active imagination is reporting that his pet pit bull was attacked by a mountain lion at a park across the street from his home. His dog couldn’t fight off the mountain lion, so the boy ran home and retrieved a ninja sword from his garage. He scampered back to the fight on a powerline strung over the street, and brought down his Hattori Hanzou while evoking the power of ninja master Momochi Sandayu. After taking a hit on the shoulder, the mountain lion ran for it. No pictures of the event survived, likely because the teenage ninja was too crafty to be captured in a photo. Fortunately ABC reported on it anyway.

Lame, I’m no expert by any means, but seeing as the sword he’s swinging in the video has a slight curve to it, and given it’s relative size, one would think they’d term it “samurai sword” if anything considering it looks most likely to be a katana. Since the kid didn’t think he did that much damage to the puma, I guess his steel wasn’t up to the grade of guy in Boston who killed that burglar.
