I'm looking for an old Church to build a climbing wall in Florida. I am one of the founders of a Church for climbing called Climbing Fellows (see www.climbingfellows.org). We are in the middle of getting our articles of incorporation filed. We are claiming that climbing is a religion. If we buy an old Church and convert to a climbing wall for our Church, it will be somewhat ironic!

Centre d'escalade Vertige, in Quebec, Canada, already has two gyms open in old churches. It's nice and spectacular to climb next to stained glass. And I heard from the manager that old churches are pretty cheap to buy! Amen to that!

"I’m not sure how future civilizations will judge us when their archeologists discover we converted churches to synthetic rock made for climbing."

Favorably.

genius. Paint the Creation of Adam on the ceiling above the wall, but without Adam - and have God holding the bell at the top. it's only slightly blasphemous.
