Discounted Utah Lift Tickets That Benefit the Utah Avalanche Center
By Rocky Thompson on December 16th, 2009
If you worked at the Utah Avalanche Center you could say, “I save lives,” when people ask what you do for a living. They might think you’re a little headstrong if you don’t say it with a sense of irony, but hey, it’s true.
Backcountry.com wants to give back to the crew that supplies us with accurate snow predictions, avalanche advisories, and mountain weather. We’re selling discounted lift tickets to every Utah ski resort, and all of the proceeds will go to help keep the lights on at the Utah Avalanche Center. Government funding only covers part of their operating costs, so the employees rely on donations and fundraisers like this to keep everyone there driving Cadillac’s and wearing long fur coats. So buy some lift tickets here and you’ll also be able to tell people, “I save lives.”

I don’t see an option for the Bird?
yeah, no Powder Mountain either. I guess ol’ Dick Bass is planning on helping the UAC by warming the planet with his new Alaska coal mine so there will be fewer avalanches. it takes longer than donating some lift tickets, but its effects are much more permanent.
