Todd Carmichael Calls Off Double Death Valley Traverse
By Rocky Thompson on October 15th, 2009
The man who attempted a double traverse of Death Valley without support called off his trip the other day. Carmichael realized that the route he’d planned to walk along while dragging his 450lb water-carrying sled was not passable, and if he wanted to make the trip he’d need to choose another route. His blog doesn’t say whether he’ll make another attempt, but instead of calling in a rescue chopper, the guy simply turned around and walked back to where he’d gotten dropped off. Here’s to having the common sense to turn around. Nice try man.
Quitter. Go big or go home dead.
