The 20 Least-Visited National Parks
By Rocky Thompson on October 15th, 2009
The LA Times is running a slideshow of the 20 least visited U.S. National Parks. Not surprisingly, the least visited ones are in remote places. Top honors go to Kobuk Valley National Park in Alaska, and second place is somewhere called National Park of American Samoa. You have to get all the way to #6 in the reverse ranking of the 58 parks to find one on the U.S. mainland-that would be Isle Royale National Park in Michigan, which has seen only 12,691 visitors in 2009 (through August). I suppose it’s hard for Michigan people to drive their campers to an island.

hey now.
