After two years of litigation efforts and two weeks of trial, the lifetime passholders who sued Vail Resorts over the transferability of those passes agreed to drop their lawsuit and settle for court costs. Translation: Vail paid their lawyer fees and the passholders received nothing. The dispute was about whether 20 lifetime passholders could continue to rent out their transferable lifetime lift tickets to Keystone visitors now that Vail owns Keystone. Vail said no; the lifetime lift ticket owners argued that Vail had agreed to honor the contract when they bought Keystone.
Of all possible outcomes, this is the worst. Vail blows a ton of cash, the passholders are stuck with what Vail offered them in the beginning, and the lawyers are buying vacation homes after getting nothing accomplished.

Well, on the bright side, maybe some of the lawyers will be able to buy those vacation homes in Vail. Hahah
