Someone told me that Black Diamond sued the makers of the movie Cilffhanger for showing a buckle on their harness peel apart and snap at the beginning of that movie. I’ve never been able to establish the veracity of that claim, but if it’s true then that harness was likely the most profitable product Black Diamond’s ever made. Now MSR has made a cameo in the new terrible looking movie A Perfect Getaway. This is a new movie even though that same title has probably been used on about two dozen similar films. I have yet to see it, but it sounds like MSR catches some publicity when a guy wrestles with his Hubba Hubba in the rain next to another camper who pops up his Mountain Hardwear tent in a few moments. Then later in the movie a guy breaks out his MSR Pocket Rocket to cook up some meth instead of a soothing cup of chamomile tea. Well, any publicity is good, I guess.
