The giant anthropomorphic grizzly bear that scares children out of their wits when it comes to playing with matches is turning 65 this week. The National Park Service is hosting a birthday party for Smokey Bear at Limbach Park in Monument, Colorado on Saturday. They also setup a birthday website for him with old commercials and ads. Smokey’s looking pretty good for his age; he’s like James Bond–whenever one gets old they replace him with a similar looking guy with the same accent.
