Temporary Ski Jumps from a Half-Century Ago

Before parachute-clad humans started jumping off every building they could find a more civilized manner of death defiance existed. Deputy Dog unearthed these photos of massive old ski jumps that were temporarily built into places like Soldier Field and Dodger Stadium. Taking these jumps off the hillside and sticking them into stadiums gives you a better idea of their scale. They make Evil Knievel’s jumps look timid by comparison.
