Cedar Wright Joins the Backcountry.com Team

By Rocky Thompson on June 12th, 2009

Ringmaster of his own Vertical Carnival, climber Cedar Wright became the newest Backcountry.com Athlete yesterday. This guy began climbing at age 21 in Northern California and then spent the seasons hopping between Joshua Tree and Yosemite, where he would end up working with Search and Rescue for five years. He’s a prolific ‘first ascensionist’ putting up routes all over the world in his own speedy style, and we’re thrilled his witty writing will soon join our gear reviews.

I dunno, maybe it’s the Lenscrafters eyeglasses on the fourtysomething dude in the organic cotton, soy ink print t shirt and the expensive, outdoor gear hoodie that gives it away but this guy looks like he still lives with his parents. How else do you live like you’re on permanent vacation?

    Wow. That’s so heavy.
But I’m not hating on anything or anyone. I’m just poking fun.

Ha! Actually you are right about the organic cotton soy ink thing, and be sure the humor and the humor wasn’t lost on me, but I do have to insist I don’t look a day over twenty three!
