77-Year-Old Man Fights Grizzly with a Stick
By Rocky Thompson on June 12th, 2009
The man had the stick in this case; just to be clear in case that headline was misleading. A man and his son were in a remote part of Canada (read: anywhere in Canada) hunting for moose antlers when a female grizzly tackled the 30-year-old. The younger man had a gun and tried to shoot the charging grizzly, but he missed and couldn’t reload his jammed gun while hanging out under a bear. The victim’s father ran at the wrestling duo and beat the bear with a walking stick he’d picked up minutes earlier until the bear bugged out and ran off.

Must be mauling (young cubs) season - Guy attacked near Yellowstone yesterday survived without a dad there to beat the Griz. http://www.idahostatesman.com/localnews/story/799971.html
That’s the bear that killed my girl!

Was that photo taken before or after the attack?
