Here’s an example of something you probably could have gotten away with about 10 years ago. A guy in Michigan pulled a 5-foot sturgeon that he’d snagged out of the lake and dragged it home. It doesn’t matter if he had a fishing license since this fish is a federally protected dinosaur. It might not be as cool as the T-rex, but at least the sturgeon has stood the test of time. A bunch of people where shooting cell phone pics and digital pictures of him dragging the fish from the water, and then someone e-mailed one of their pictures to the DNR. Now they’re offering a cash reward for the poacher. What the hell are you going to do with a 160lb fish like that anyway?
