Will Ferrell on Man Vs. Wild

By Rocky Thompson on June 1st, 2009

Man Vs. Wild is one of those shows that I assumed never had first-run episodes. I thought it was more like they just found a box of the tapes and put it into syndication from the start. Turns out that tomorrow Will Ferrell makes a guest appearance on the show. I’m not sure if Ferrell starts the adventure with superhunk Bear Grylls or they just ‘happen’ to run into each other in the Scandinavian backcountry. I think the guy doing the voiceover is Kenny Powers from Eastbound and Down.

Looking at Bear Grylls and Les Stoud could there be two more different people doing similar things? Bear decides to sell out even further by having a movie star onto his show making it quite possibly even more of a joke, while Les films “Survive This”. Albeit a kids show, but one to truly teach and test their limits. I love Will Ferrell, he’s a funny actor, but the schlubb act gets old and I can’t see why a supposedly serious survival expert would turn his supposedly serious survival show into such a joke.
