The New York Times has a story on what Aron Ralston’s been up to since that day he decided to snap his wrist bones and cut off the hand that was pinned between an 800-pound boulder and cliff face. I found it interesting that he’d given up on his mechanical engineering job and moved west to hang out prior the accident, but I was more interested the hear that he’s making between $15k and $37k for each speaking engagement. Now listen, I’m sure he’d rather have his hand back, but that’s some solid cash as long as you don’t go crazy telling the story over and over.

15 grand to listen to somebody say “Don’t do this, I was dumb” seems like a dumb move in and of itself.
