Corn and cliffs for cash. I’m in.
By on March 20th, 2009$20,000 is on the line. The third stop of the 2009 Freeskiing World Tour is Kirkwood, Cali and what’s going down is the 12th Annual Subaru North American Freeskiing Championships. Well, what’s going down, really, is badass skier after badass skier, battling it out for the title… and, like I said, $20,000.
I have to say that I would definitely shoot myself down corn-covered steeps, through trees and and off cliffs for $20,000. But that cash would have to be mine without a doubt if I actually made it to the bottom. More like a dare than a competition.
They should do that. Add in a citizen division, with the only stipulation being that contestants have to be random dudes off the street. The skiers (and I use that term loosely) have to get to at least 60 mph on the descent and huck themselves off all drops. Anyone alive and unbroken at the bottom gets to split the purse.
Brilliant. I’m calling FWT right now.
In the meantime, watch the real action live from Kirkwood today and tomorrow, 12-3 PST.
