Nashville has been named the Manliest city in the country, though it appears the pollsters have mistaken ‘redneck’ and ‘manly’ for the same thing.

The study released Thursday ranks “America’s Manliest Cities” on criteria such as the number of professional major league sports teams, popularity of tools and hardware, and frequency of monster truck rallies.

Mars bars and Combos Snacks commissioned the study for reasons unexplained. Charlotte, Oklahoma City, Cincinnati, and Denver finished in the top 5; all of them behind Nashville, which took the top spot due to its high number of NASCAR, hunting, and fishing enthusiasts. Denver! Ha! And people complain about Utah being backwards!
