Let me get this right-- some knob on a fancy bike breaks the law by not having a light on his bike at night and beats up a guy for suggesting he follow the law. So he breaks 2 laws and you defend him. http://www.bfw.org/advocacy/index.php?category_id=4033&subcategory_id=5556 Would you defend the first guy for freedom of speech? As Will Rogers liked to say, "Your right to swing your fist ends at my nose," or something close to that.

Yes, the guy deserved to be beaten up because he didn t keep his mouth shut.... He owns a bike shop and therefore probably is a big proponent of bike safety. Also, it s common courtesy to have a light on the bike. Let s all applaud the dbag who overreacted and beat the guy up.

This was actually in Madison, though it appeared in the Milwaukee paper. It s been the topic of Milwaukee biking message lists all day. Most people agreed: It s best to just keep your mouth shut. Update: There s been an arrest: http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/lifestyle/35544679.html
