“With all of the backlash over the semi-nude centerfolds on Burton’s Love Series boards, it got me thinking: ‘it’s time to set things straight, once and for all’…and where better to start than with every ski bum’s fantasy: the Lange girls. The Lange girls are solid proof that snowboarding is slowly becoming more and more uncool and conservative while skiing is, and has always been, the rich man’s rebel child. If you think about it, everything that snowboarding tries to emulate, skiing did in the 70’s or 80’s, and we’re still doing it now. One-pieces? Been there, done that. Hats with a pom? Check. Bright obnoxious colors? Try Blizzard of Aahhh’s. And as for the borderline-offensive, totally objectifying, sexually oriented marketing, we’ve got that too. In high-gloss spades, thanks to Lange and others. Bottom line? Keep trying, snurfers…maybe one day you won’t have to worry about the flats.” -Aaron Provine, Outspoken Hardgoods Buyer

What a bitter attitude, little one. Perhaps counseling would help you address your feelings of inadequacy.
rabble!
Yeah Snowboarding is for children
troof
Nice tips.
Great analysis. The truth does hurt bryantp, HUH?
Yes, while your mommy and daddies where paying for your ski racing academies and personal lessons so you could progress beyond pizza and french fries. Us snowboarders where out there actually bringing style to the one pieces, sexually oriented marketing (research skateboarding- the roots of snowboarding), getting busted by cops for trying to jib some ish that now you see in every ski video on the market. Lange girls, great every 40 year old dude has that hanging in his garage. Love serious snowboard is causing such an uproar because kids are buying it, the same kids that have lost interest in skiing.
Yeah, as a 55-year old snowboarder, I stay up nights worrying about acne and being thought immature.
Truth - about half of the folks I ride with are skiiers. I just get the giggles when someone really thinks one is inherently superior to the other.
One can only assume the persons behind this worthless post(text only of course)run “alta is for white people”
stickers on their cars/shirts/x-small condoms. I love the part about one of the two sports becoming “uncool”
and “conservative”. I like to choose all my passions based upon a scale of cool and/or the level of conservative I might be
displaying at any given moment…..it’s a sliding scale, naturally.
55 year old snowboarder= ex-skier with bad knees or Sk8r 4 life. Which 1 r u?
Just kidding or should I have said j/k?
Anyway d00d, chillax- your insecurity is really showing because no one said anyone was superior to anyone else.
Hey Bryantp - 55 year old snowboarder sounds suspiciously like an aging hipster. Also I notice that you comment on an inordinately high number of these posts… is there not much going on in the retirement home?
Ah skiing, the sport of a true blue-blood white anglo-saxon douche…
This post is ridiculously lame–the same tard that wrote it is probably one of those “cutting edge” freestyle skiers that eats $h*t in the park on a daily basis. Whatever. They’re two slightly different variations of the same sport–give it a rest. Like bryantp said–it’s funny when someone tries to declare one superior over the other. And Joe Vickers, lamenting about how frequently someone posts in a forum or blog by posting a comment about it in said forum or blog is foolish in the worst way.
My dad snowboards and he’s 52…which is close enough. I snowboard and I’m 21, real unique I know, but some of my best friends are skiiers, as are 2 of my roomates. Hell I even tried skiing again on St. Patty’s day after a few drinks and had a blast. Everyone should try that…the few drinks and having a blast at least.
