I’m going to do you a favor and leave this insanely gnarly image off the top of the post. You can click-through if you want to see the tree branch that went through a guy’s leg during a group ride in California. I didn’t have the luxury of deciding whether or not I’d see the picture when I opened my e-mail, and even though I have a pretty strong stomach, I thought for a moment that I might throw-up my Coco Puffs. Before this I’d always considered branches friendly tree appendages that slowed my fall before my skull hit the tree trunk, now I no longer trust them.

honestly it does not look plausable. i think that the sound itself would be a lot worse…for a branch of that diameter to go that far is hard to believe
