The RunKeeper is a $10 iPhone application that tracks your speed, distance, and time while running or hiking, and then after your run it automatically uploads your info to RunKeeper.com and churns out a Google map of the route. Pretty killer setup for only $10, and you don’t even have to mess around with RFID chips in your shoes like the Nike+. The obvious downside is that you need to carry your iPhone while running and it’s a lot bigger than a Nano or Shuffle. Still, if you already have an iPhone then RunKeeper is a slick upgrade that would be great for tracking the bike commutes to work or rides on weekends.

TrailGuru (trailguru.com) does all that for free (with an iphone app).
Yeah but RK has the real-time pace graph! $10 is pretty much free as far as I’m concerned! after all I have the iPhone and data plan it’s not like I’m a cheapo pinching pennies here, I want the one that’s slicker and better!
MapMyRun.com and MapMyRide.com now have FREE iphone applications and the website integration and social networking tools are so much better than any other tool on the iPhone 3G. Also, I trust MapMyRun with my workout data.
