Bike Lane Fun and Trouble with Signage

A pretty funny photo that does a great job of explaining most cities’ approach “the bike problem.” It’s great that they’re trying, but the underlying bureaucracy of non-bikers in every walk of life just doesn’t quite get it right. Just move the damn sign into the car lane—or at least the space between the bike and car lanes.

I see signs in the bike lane all the time when there’s plenty of publicly owned grass adjacent to the roadway. It drives me crazy.

common sense just isn’t so common these days. it would be even funnier if the sign had been knocked down and was still flashing “watch for bikes”

Kind of like non-drinkers writing liquor laws isn’t it?

Huh? yeah we need more alcoholics in positions of power damnit! That thing is pretty big, but back in highschool we still would have tried taking it. I can see it now lit up in my neighborhood proclaiming whatever message I deemed important at the time.
