Lance Armstrong Turned Him Into a Crack Addict?
By Rocky Thompson on June 23rd, 2008You can’t win the Tour de France 7 times, divorce your wife for an awful country music singer, and then date Danny Tanner’s kid and not be kind of an asshole. We know this about Lance; we’re cool with it because he humiliated the French on their terms several times over. But now some poor crack addict is using a mind-numbing new show on A&E to tell people that Lance turned him into a crack addict.
In a former teammate’s words: “Lance Armstrong was already a big star at that point. I think a lot of the young riders that were there were in awe of somebody like that. Chad wasn’t necessarily somebody in awe of anything.”
Other guy: “Chad walked up to Lance and called him a ‘doughboy’ and pushed his belly in and Lance got really upset.”
Chad: “Needless to say, the next morning I was asked to leave the Olympic Training Center.”
Really? A crack addict because you were asked to leave the Olympic Training Center after things didn’t work out with the team? Things must have gotten out of hand pretty quickly. The guy probably would have gone on a shooting spree if they’d asked him to return the workout clothes they’d given him.

honestly, who has he balls to first poke lance armstrong on he stomach, and then call him a doughboy? i’m sure it was more than that anyways, but i can see it being a poor way to introduce yourself to a captain of any team.
I’m wondering if they probably didn’t like his attitude, perhaps he was too cavalier? I agree with Andy, though, there was probably more to it than the “doughboy” comment.
That show that this is from, Intervention, usually runs two peoples stories in the hour long show. But this dude got the show all to himself. It was pretty damn interesting. From top level biker to full blown crack head. The guy had issues before hand, it wasn’t cause Lance got his panties in a bunch that the guy turned to crack.
I kept waiting for the wambulance to show up. Hard to feel sorry for a guy who send himself down the path.
i just spent an hour of work watching all 5 parts. thanks.
haha yeah me too. i’ll be the first to admit it… i cried at the end
