KOR Water’s $30 Nalgene Killer
By Rocky Thompson on June 19th, 2008
It’s not much for dirtbag sensibilities, but Arc’teryx is doing pretty well selling $90 shorts so it’s safe to say a $30 water bottle has a chance in this market. The KOR Water Bottle is about as feature-laden as you can make a water bottle without turning it into a clock radio, and of course it’s BPA free and comes with all kinds of parts you hope aren’t hard to clean mold out of. You’ll have to put up with marketing material calling the water bottle, “the first and only Personal Hydration Vessel,†but I’m all for it if it gets people off the bottled water.

Sure. Whatever. Is there an adapter for my MSR Miniworks filter?
doesn’t match my complete original tribal tatoo
I hear they’re coming out with a $50 organic version next fall.
bleh
is it ‘core’ enough?
It’s not core enough until the oil molecules are fair trade, unionized, free range, and get equal benefits.
Now that kind of bottle will be allowed on my Xtracycle for the ride to the bar.
Wow, great design. I will use this at Yoga, my office, in the car—how durable is it for outdoor activity? I doubt it fits in my bike water bottle holder. But I will order this one for my “suited life” because I hate carrying my sigg as it looks like a sports bottle. This KOR bottle will absolutely be part of my daily routine. I drink water all day and maybe I can convert some of my co-workers that water is not only good for you, you can look good drinking it! Sorry soda girls, I am gonna get you to drink water one of these days–you will thank me someday!
Clearly Sela is an undercover representative of KOR Water.
Maybe I should ask them to pay me–or at least send me a free bottle?? Sorry, I said anything-I just think it looks awesome and I am tired of being snubbed at the office because I am an anti-soda person.
Randi here from kor water – lurking around to see what people are saying about us. I guess I can put an end to ricechirspy’s fears. We have no Sela on our payroll. She should consider submitting her resume.
Seriously though thanks for getting the word out about KOR One. It is great to see people talking about it. We are counting the days until it is available and the interest has been overwhelming. Please go to the website to see all the features and become more educated about such things as “water bottle” induced wrinkles!
The KOR One is here. It took us longer than we thought it would to start shipping out the KOR One–but it was worth the wait. We can barely keep up with the orders. We are thrilled to see how many people are interested in better earth, better health, and better design. Customers are saying they are actually drinking more water now because they love their KOR so much. Check it out on our website.
I am early adopter of the KOR water bottle and I have to say I have grown pretty fond of it. It’s a delight to carry, looks great, and holds enough water to last me through my workday. My only gripe is that one of the major places I drink water is in the car, but this bottle doesn’t fit into standard cup holders. At risk of upsetting the KOR people, I would love to see an alternate model that is a bit shorter and has a rounder, less ovular shape so it would fit into spaces designed for normal water bottles, like car cup holders and bottle holders on backpacks. I’d also love to see a non-white frame; after about three weeks of use, my bottle is already looking kind of grubby.
I got a Kor bottle as a gift and the lid was too tight. It was so squeaky!! I was planning to use it for my nightstand water bottle but I don’t want to use a squeaky bottle when it’s quiet at night. Their website and customer service is horrible. I communicated to Josh Keyes about this problem and I even sent him a video of it. He said he was going to replace it but I never got anything. I tried calling customer service and nobody got back to me. I emailed too and no response either. I’m stuck with a squeaky lid and I’ll probably have to buy a replacement for this already expensive bottle.
