Steve Howe’s wife and friend received this text message while Howe was making his way up Mt. McKinley:
Steve Howe is injured or immobilized & cannot proceed, but has no immediate life-threatening condition. Evac please

At least the SPOT Satellite Personal Tracker was kind enough to say ‘please’ to his wife after Howe accidentally set off the tracker. She called park rangers and pulled her hair out for about three hours until someone made contact with Howe and found out that he’d accidentally set it off. You knew it was only a matter of time until this began happening.
