Volkswagen Camper Van Gets Hippy Upgrade

It doesn’t look like they left much ground clearance to get off road, but that’s okay since I do all my camping in Wal Mart parking lots. The Volkswagen Westfalia Verdier is a massive green upgrade to the original magic bus with the air-cooled engine. A big solar panel on the roof runs your gear at the site while an integrated folding staircase and swivel cooking range give you stuff to talk about with the neighbors at your campsite. You can reserve one today through Verdier if you can stand their annoying website music for longer than 2 minutes.

First of all, unless you are talking about what happens when you eat too much fudge, the spelling that you are looking for is “hippie”.

Second of all, the Verdier project (which is about a year old now) has been a disappointment to us old VW Camper owners/enthusiasts, as it still hasn’t been shown to be anything more than vaporware.

Now, excuse me while I go and roll a joint with some wheatstraws…
