An 18-foot drug boat ran aground near Sunset Cliffs in San Diego and 20 bales of marijuana washed ashore. The Coast Guard recovered the boat and “all” the weed, but no arrests have been made. It can be assumed that far fewer bales would have been recovered if the boat ran aground near a crowded break. There weren’t any surfers on the scene, but at 6am it’s safe to assume they would have bugged out with the merchandise pretty quick if there were any around.
