Wenger’s relatively new EvoGrip series now has a bigger catch-all knife called the S54. It costs $135. I have to wonder if the Swiss Army okays these changes or they simply sell their brand logo to Wenger to do as they please. The Swiss Army is actually a pretty interesting institution. It used to be that Switzerland required every building to have a bomb shelter, and their mountainous terrain meant that the government could blow some bridges and rail lines and effectively garrison themselves from invasion. They still require every able-bodied male from 19 to 31 years old to serve the military in some capacity. The government always keeps their army outfitted with the latest guns, and then they sell the old guns to citizens to keep in their homes. That country is up to their eyeballs in assault rifles, so it seems odd to me that they never have psychopaths going nuts on campuses like we’re getting used to the U.S.

Or never have a reason to own their knives
all power to the people, that’s how we handle it here in switzerland. 7.5 million habitants, 2.5 millions assault rifles in household and a lesser “people-get-killed-by-such” ration per 100.000 citizens than in germany or elsewhere. what’s this all about? give the people guns, and the wont kill each other. peace.

When everyone has guns people are less likely to use them… it’s a fact.
obviously we don’t carry our rifles out on university campus. but due to the fact, that every year we make nice army training courses, swiss mens’ trigger happyness gets cured while beeing on that 3 week “green-holiday” vacation…
