Breaking the Bicycle Landspeed Record (and Your Neck)

By Rocky Thompson on August 30th, 2007

Four University of Missouri students are heading to the Nevada desert to attempt to break the 61 mph collegiate human landspeed record. They’re using a recumbent bike wrapped in an aerodynamic carbon shell that makes it tough to put your foot down to balance at stop signs. We wish them luck and hope they post more of these hilarious videos.

Actually, its UMR, the University of Missouri-Rolla, that’s attempting the record. I should know, I go there. Please don’t get us confused with MU, that’s just insulting :).
