Ski-Sling Over-the-Shoulder Ski Carry
By Rocky Thompson on August 21st, 2007Watching skiers stumble through the parking lot in unbuckled rear-entry boots while they carrying their skis and poles like a pile of firewood never gets old. Now some guy from Australia is trying to take that pleasure away from me by inventing this Ski-Sling. It’s a simple system that relies on two ratcheting straps to hold your skis and poles together with a shoulder strap stretched between them. The Ski-Sling is definitely marketed toward the crowd that considers the hardest part of the day getting their ski boots on, but it has the same problem as every other ski-carry gadget—what are you supposed to do with it when you get to the hill? The Ski-Sling costs $50.
Thanks Brendan

I guess you have never been skiing in Australia then. It is usually a 500m walk to the ski lodge or car park and to pay some someone else to drive you back to your car is like paying for another lift ticket. Plus with the limited amount of snow we get this means you can walk around the rock patches and save scratching your ski’s.
It’s every bit as hip as the model’s wardrobe! Do they have it in Day-Glo colors?
You use it to hang yourself from the lift to save your self from the humiliation of using them when walking up to the bar after a rough day on the groom
Brendan,
The Sling Ski is small enough to place in your jacket/pant pocket and large enough to securely lock around your ski boots (unless you take a size 14), so there are 2 things to do with it while on the hill. A third would be to place it in a corner of a back pack if you’re inclined to wear one while skiing. From basement to car to ski-lift to lodge to car to basement - My Sling Ski rocks !!
Cheers
Peter
