Reactiv Cycling Jacket with Brake Lights and Turn Signals
By Rocky Thompson on August 20th, 2007Lights embedded in the back and arms of the Reactiv Cycling Jacket indicate to drivers whether you’re speeding up, slowing down, or turning. An accelerometer makes the jacket flash red lights when slowing down and green lights when speeding up. The red lights make sense, but I’m not sure that you want drivers seeing a big green light on your back when you start pedaling. Also, the arm turn signals only work if you raise your arm to physically signal a turn. You can see the biker turn the wrong way down a one-way street at the end of the video that explains how the jacket works. The inventor says the Reactiv Cycling Jacket will be available in the UK for about $200 by this December.
